The My Doorman Story
Over years my wife and I have lived in various types of properties all being different in age, build, design and size, but the one thing that resonates through them all is at least one internal door would open or close in the lightest of drafts, move under their own volition or slam when opening a door or window in a different part of the property, our present home is no exception. We addressed this problem over the years by using random items in the same way as other people we knew who had similar door issues. Through the years we never saw a door control product that was as convenient, user friendly or attractive than the random items we had always used.
My Doorman really started as a pet project in lockdown in 2020 to solve our own door issues, although as time went on it became apparent that it may be a product that others might like to have to control their own misbehaving doors.
When considering offering My Doorman to other door problem sufferers the criteria expanded, covering user requirements that I never considered when initially starting out on this personal door controlling odyssey for ourselves. To cut a very long and arduous story short, after a number of years a patent was secured and the years of ongoing R&D have produced a product that is a very attractive piece of door furniture and absolutely fit for purpose. A most wonderful compliment paid to My Doorman to date is: Its similar to the cat’s eyes on the roads in respect of its simplicity of design, the unique way in which it solves the problems, its unrivalled user friendliness and its enormous potential reach in the market place.
